ABOUT Cristina Ferrare

Cristina Ferrare was first introduced to the fashion world when, at age fourteen, she was discovered as a model. During the 1970s and 1980s, her face graced the covers of Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar, and Good Housekeeping, among others. Following a stint as spokesperson for Max Factor Cosmetics, Ferrare co-hosted "AM Los Angeles" from 1984 to 1989. From there, she co-hosted ABC's "Home Show," "Incredible Sunday," and a series of prime time specials on CBS called "Shame on You." Ferrare also appeared on HBO's "Comedy Special," "The Gary Shandling Show," and "Dream On," and appeared on "Live with Regis and Kathi Lee" and "Good Morning America" as a guest co-host. She co-hosted "The Home & Family Show" on The Family Channel from 1996 to 1998.

It was during her tenure with "The Home & Family Show" that Ferrare found the inspiration for her New York Times bestseller Okay, So I Don't Have a Headache. The book investigated the natural causes for lack of sexual desire in women, as well as remedies such as diet, exercise, and relaxation rituals. With her book reaching many women across the country, Ferrare continued to share her story with audiences through television appearances on "Oprah" and "Dateline NBC."

Ferrare also enjoys sharing her ideas on personal style. She authored Cristina Ferrare's Family Entertaining, a collection of family recipes for all occasions, as well as Cristina Ferrare Style. Already a well-known model, actress, author, and television host, Ferrare has recently added the title of jewelry designer to her already impressive resume. The jewelry, which is designed by Ferrare and managed and merchandised by her mother, Renata, is sold at Neiman Marcus stores.

The mother of four, stepmother of three, and grandmother of two, Ferrare resides in Los Angeles with her husband, an entertainment executive, and two of their daughters.
